About Us
Andy Sobuta PT, DPT, OCS, COMT, CSCS
Andy holds a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the MGH Institute of Health Professions and a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Kinesiology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. With more than 20 years of experience as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, he brings a deep foundation in human performance, movement quality, and long‑term physical resilience. As a former NCAA gymnast at UMass, Andy draws on his own athletic background to help patients return to high‑level activity with confidence. Outside the clinic, he stays active through mountain biking throughout New England, especially Vermont, along with winter sports and running.
Training & Professional Background:
Before beginning his clinical career, Andy worked at the U.S. Army Research Center in Natick as a strength and conditioning coach, where he helped develop training programs to enhance soldier performance and readiness.
From 2009 to 2025, Andy served as a physical therapist at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, where he earned his Board Certification as an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist. During his time at Spaulding, he also served as the clinical liaison for both the Graston Technique and dry needling programs. His extensive background as a Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist allows him to guide patients back to a healthy, active lifestyle regardless of prior injuries or limitations.
Andy is committed to developing individualized, comprehensive rehabilitation and fitness programs tailored to each patient’s goals. He also has extensive training in functional dry needling, integrating it into his orthopedic and sports‑based treatment approach.
In addition to his clinical work, Andy has spent many years mentoring entry‑level Doctor of Physical Therapy students from major Boston‑area programs, helping shape strong clinical reasoning, hands‑on skills, and patient‑centered practice in the next generation of clinicians.
